Interesting footage has emerged from China of workers harvesting ice and beginning construction work on some kind of ice palace which will house sculptures during an annual winter festival.

The video, filmed in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province last Tuesday, shows construction workers cutting large ice building blocks out of the frozen Songhua River.

It will reportedly take them 15 days to complete the structure and exhibition, before Ice-Snow World opens to the public.
