CNN, Turner Broadcasting and its parent company, Time Warner, are facing a class-action lawsuit over allegations relating to racial discrimination.

CNN, Turner Broadcasting and its parent company, Time Warner, are facing a class-action lawsuit over allegations relating to racial discrimination, reports Deadline.
The document, filed on December 6 in Atlanta by plaintiffs Celeslie Henley and Ernest Colbert, Jr., claims that there was a “deprivation of rights accorded to [them] and members of a class of African-American salaried employees and mid-level managerial employees…”
These include alleged biases in promotions and compensation in addition to performance evaluations which they claim have been especially low for African-American men.
It also alleges that Henry, who worked as an Executive Administrative Assistant at CNN, was fired after complaining about discrimination from her boss, and Colbert, a current Turner Broadcasting employee, has been underpaid compared to his white peers.
The filing goes on to state that “the discrimination experienced by the Plaintiffs mirrors a much broader problem within the discriminatory practices being implemented throughout all of Turner’s Networks.”
The plaintiffs are seeking an undisclosed amount which includes compensatory and punitive damages.
According to Deadline, “CNN declined to comment on this latest legal action.”
