Why would Lenin avoid the subject of secret beyond matter?

When you consider senses as exclusive elements rather than an image of the physical world, in other words, when you make a compromise on materialism, you lose yourself to religion, and then your senses become nobody's senses. The mind becomes nobody's mind, the soul becomes nobody's soul, the will becomes nobody's will. We better avoid this subject."  Avoid it or not, you have to live with it. What will you achieve by escaping from it?
