Went and saw the play "The Beauty Queen of Leenane" last night at the Mark Taper in Los Angeles and it's interesting to see raw Irish talent to see how they manipulate and stir your soul. The playright Martin McDonagh is really a brilliant playright as he's written so many plays that have gone to Broadway plus he received an Oscar for a short film he made. What a talent!     “McDonagh re-creates traditional Irish family drama only to set it ablaze with a postmodern blowtorch.”    Charles McNulty, Los Angeles Times       A darkly comic tale of Maureen Folan, a plain and lonely woman in her early 40s, and Mag, her manipulative, aging mother, whose interference in Maureen's first and potentially last loving relationship sets in motion a chain of events that are as tragically funny as they are horrific.
