Buckingham Palace is getting a $460 million makeover

On Friday, the U.K. government approved a $460 million, 10-year palace renovation plan that is expected to add a multi-billion pound boost to the British economy.
The refurbishment, the biggest undertaken on the property since the second world war, will renew the palace’s 33-year-old boilers, 100 miles of electrical cable, some of it 60 years old, and 20 miles of lead and cast iron pipework.
The work addresses a serious risk of fire, flood and damage to the 17th-century, 775-room building and the royal art collection,
