Newly naturalized citizen shares a window into his first U.S. voting experience

“American by choice.” That’s how Waqas Mahmood describes himself. Mahmood became a U.S. citizen this year after immigrating from Pakistan. Today he's voting in his first election. We accompanied Mahmood to his polling place in Northern Virginia to capture his first vote.
