Of the many topics discussed during the 2016 presidential election, there's one that's been left out of every conversation and debate. What happens to President Obama's Twitter handle when he leaves office? Well, according to The White House, Obama will hand over the @POTUS account to the next president on Jan. 20, 2017. The new president will be tweeting on a blank slate after all of Obama's tweets are removed and archived by the National Archives and Records Administration. The next president also acquires Obama's other social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook. However, the new president will get to keep all of the 11 million followers accumulated by Obama.
