Lioness defends cubs from swooping eagle

Footage of a lioness leaping into the air to attack an eagle which was apparently swooping down in an attempt to snatch one of the lion cubs nearby.

The video, filmed in Kenya, shows the lioness spring into action as the eagle appears off screen.

According to the filmer, she successfully managed to thwart the bird's attempts to grab one her young cubs.
