Driver crashes new brand new Mercedes Benz into cyclist in alleged DUI hit-and-run

COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA — A 22-year-old allegedly crashed her new Mercedes Benz into a cyclist in a DUI hit-and-run — just hours after she reportedly boasted about the car on Instagram.

According to the Orange County Register, the accident occurred around 11 p.m. in Costa Mesa when a cyclist was wounded after a car struck him. Police told the newspaper that the cyclist suffered leg wounds but was able to describe the car.

The cops reportedly tracked down the car, which belongs to Aya Ibish, a few blocks away and found it to have crash damage consistent with the accident. The cops say they performed a roadside sobriety check on Ibish, which we’re guessing she failed because she was later arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and felony DUI causing injury.

She called the car her “new pride and joy” in the now deleted Instagram post, notes an Google Translated article on Autoblog.nl, a Dutch car site that appears to be the only news site to have saved the photo of Ibish with the Mercedes before her post was deleted
