Chelsea Manning set to undergo gender transition surgery

Imprisoned former Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning will be undergoing gender transition surgery, according to CNN, after ending her hunger strike. The procedure would make Manning the first U.S. prison inmate to to undergo a surgery of that kind. Manning, a transgender woman, was convicted of stealing and disseminating 750,000 pages of documents and videos to WikiLeaks.
