BANGKOK — A 52-kilogram anaconda is recovering in a Thai hospital after a veterinarians removed large portions of a tumor from its heart.

Taweesak Anansiriwattana, also known as Doc Vi, along with his crack team at Klongluang Animal Hospital got to work on the beast on Monday.

According to the BBC, the serpent — who belongs to a private owner — was under anesthetic during the seven-hour operation.

The vets removed a lot of the tumor, but couldn’t get all of it due to its proximity to the snake’s heart.

Hospital staff are awaiting test results to see if the tumor is cancerous.

Following the operation, Doc Vi posted images of it to Facebook. Naturally, the post went viral, and Doc Vi and his team are being praised by Thai netizens for their efforts.
