After more than five decades of censorship, the contemporary art scene is thriving in Burma as artists enjoy newfound freedoms. Under military rule many people used art as a way to relay political messages and circumvent strict censorship laws.
But now that censorship has been lifted, can artists separate art from politics in a country where the two were unavoidably intertwined for so long?
