In this advanced air force, i'm the only pilot available to defend whatever needs defending, against hordes of fighters and bombers. Everybody else is on leave? just peachy - pfft. No backups, no wingmen, no SAM defenses against incredible odds? This is about as unrealistic as it gets; just an arcade shooter in the cloth of a simulator. Was there ever a time back in the old days before the advent of Wing Commander or Falcon 3.0 when air combat has no wingmen? Perhaps there is but at least the enemies did not spawn endlessly. In this game you have to complete the objectives first or the bogies will keep harassing you until either you're dead or run out of time.
At the end of this campaign, if you're not a hater yet, you might just turn into one.
