Sanders: There Will be a Contested Convention

Bernie Sanders predicted Saturday that the Democratic presidential process would lead to a contested summer convention against Hillary Clinton, pushing back against the likelihood that Clinton will soon declare victory.
Sanders also sought to apply pressure to television networks to avoid calling Clinton the victor when the polls close in New Jersey on Tuesday in order to avoid an influence on California, whose polls close three hours later.
According to the Associated Press count late Saturday, Clinton is 67 delegates short of reaching the 2,383 delegates necessary for securing the nomination, based on her combined number of super delegates and pledged delegates.
But because Clinton is unlikely to reach that threshold without the boost of the hundreds of super delegates supporting her, Sanders still sees a path to victory.
