Crooning Cowboy Western: Outlaws of Boulder Pass (1942)

Singing Cowboy George Houston returns as The Lone Rider in Outlaws of Boulder Pass. Featuring a veteran and excellent cast of western film fame, Outlaws is shameless gun-slinging fun. Smokey Hammer’s (Dennis Moore) ranch is under attack by a band of outlaws. The Lone Rider, with sidekick Al “Fuzzy” St. John, comes to aid Smokey and the gunfights are tremendous. Then the film takes a softer tone as Houston courts the gorgeous Marjorie Manners, crooning tunes like “Let Me Keep Roamin’ the Prairie” and “The Grass is Always Green in Sunshine Valley.” Nothing but enjoyable popcorn entertainment, Outlaws of Boulder Pass is pistol and saddle fun at its best.
