Captain America is a patriotic super-solider transformed from the scrawny, unsuitable-for-war Steve Rogers after receiving an injection of Super-Soldier Serum. The young man had all the qualities a solider should have—leadership, a strong moral compass and intelligence—but until he had received the serum he was physically inadequate.

His uniform during World War II was representative of his patriotic allegiance and to be seen as a hero to Americans during a difficult time. After the war was over, he was frozen in the Antarctic where he remained suspended in time for 70 years. Returning to battle in the modern world requires an evolution of his suit in order to adapt to his expanded skill sets and the new threats he faces.

Throughout the modern films in which Chris Evans has portrayed the hero, Captain America's suit has evolved quickly and incredibly. Let's take a look at some of the best features of the Captain's suits and their designers.
