Bombay HC upholds ban on slaughter of bulls, bullocks in Maharashtra, decriminalises beef possession.
On 6 May 2016 the Bombay High Court upheld the ban on slaughter of bulls and bullocks in Maharashtra indicating that consumption of beef will remain banned across the state.
However, a division bench of Justices AS Oka and SC Gupte struck down provisions that criminalised possession of beef of animals slaughtered outside the state.

Pakistan won 2016 Asia Kabaddi Championship Cup.
On 6 May 2016 Defending Champion Pakistan won the Asian Kabaddi Championship 2016 (Circle Style) that held at Wah Cantonment in Pakistan. It defeated India by 19 points.
Pakistan achieved 50 points against 31 by India in the final of the tournament. It is second successive win for Pakistan in the Asian Kabaddi title as they won it in 2012.

ICICI Bank signs MoU with New Development Bank.
New Development Bank (NDB) is a multilateral development bank established by the BRICS states which are Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
On 6 May 2016 ICICI Bank signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the New Development Bank (NDB) to establish a strategic partnership in the areas of bond issuances, co-financing, treasury management and human resources.
With this, ICICI Bank became the first financial institution in India to sign the pact with NDB.
The MoU was signed by first President of NDB KV Kamath and ICICI Bank head Chanda Kochhar in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Switzerland government honours Yash Chopra with Bronze statue.
On 4 May 2016 Swiss government honoured the late bollywood film maker Yash Chopra with a special statue.
The bronze statue of Yash Chopra weighing about 250 kilos was inaugurated by his wife Pamela Chopra and daughter-in-law Rani Mukerjee.
