South India's first underground corridor inaugurated.
On 30 April 2016 Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu and Karanataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the underground corridor of Bangalore Metro Rail. Bangalore Metro Rail, also known as Namma Metro.
It is South India's first underground metro section connecting east west corridor of Bangalore metro rail project.
Reliance Defence signed agreements with 3 Ukranian companies.
On 30 April 2016 Reliance Defence signed strategic partnership agreement with three Ukranian state- owned firms, to collaborate on a range of military products including transport aircraft, upgrade of armoured vehicles, maritime gas turbines and unmanned aerial vehicles.
The agreements were signed during meeting between Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani and Ukranian President Petro Poroshenko in Ukraine.
Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act2016.
On 1 May 2016 Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act2016 came into force. In this regard, Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (HUPA) notified 69 of the total 92 sections of the Act to bring it into force from 1 May2016.
The Act sets up in motion the process of making necessary operational rules and creation of institutional infrastructure for protecting the interests of consumers.
Maharashtra Government launched Adi Praman.
On 29 April 2016 Maharashtra Governor C Vidyasagar Rao launched Adi Praman, a web-based application. It enables Maharashtra’s tribal population to get the caste validity certificates online. The portal named etribalvalidity.mahaonline@gov.in was launched at Raj Bhavan. Maharashtra was the first state to provide caste validity certificates online.
Adi Praman;
• It will make the entire process of securing caste validity certificate transparent, fast, and easy and would effectively curb the menace of bogus certificates.
India, Papua New Guinea signed four agreements.
On 29 April 2016 India and Papua New Guinea signed four agreements/MoUs to boost the bilateral relations. These MoUs were signed during the two-day visit of President Pranab Mukhrejee to Papua New Guinea.
Signed MoUs are;
• Health and Medical Services : The MoU on Health covers areas such as Public Health, Health Research, Human Resources and Training and Medical Services.
• Transport and infrastructure : India will provide a Line of Credit of 100 million dollars for specific projects in Transport and infrastructure sectors.
