Shi'ite pilgrims killed in triple Baghdad bomb blasts

Three bombs have been detonated around the Iraqi capital Baghdad killing as many as 25 people and wounding scores.

A number of those killed were Shi’ite Muslims on an annual pilgrimage to the city.

The biggest explosion happened when a car bomb was detonated in the Saydiya district of southern Baghdad, which left 11 dead.

ISIL has claimed responsibility for the bloodshed.

The latest explosions came two days after at least 23 people lost their lives and dozens of others sustained injuries in a car bomb attack that targeted a group of Shi’ite pilgrims in Baghdad’s southeastern neighborhood of Nahrawan on Saturday morning.
