The city of Cleveland has agreed to pay Tamir Rice's family $6 million to settle a federal lawsuit filed over the boy's November 2014 shooting death by city police. The settlement does not resolve all of the lingering legal issues surrounding the 12-year-old's killing. Tamir died on NOv. 23, 2014 the day after Officer Timothy Loehmann shot him while the boy was playing with an airsoft pellet gun outside Cudell Recreation Center on West Boulevard. Loehmann, along with his partner Frank Garmback, were responding to a report from a dispatcher of a guy with a gun.
