On January 12, 2008, seven members of the Bathurst High School Phantoms basketball team and their coach's wife were killed instantly when the van they were travelling in collided with a tractor trailer. The seven boys ranged in ages from 15 to 17. They had just finished singing "Happy Birthday" to Nick Quinn, who had turned 16 at midnight. The crash happened shortly after that... only five minutes from home. The boys had a joint funeral on Wednesday, January 16, attended by 6,000 people. Messages from the Pope and the Governor General of Canada were read. Messages were also received from the Prime Minister of Canada and the Premier of New Brunswick. This is a memorial video that I put together in their memory. For more on this accident, you may check my blog at http://www.briancormier.com
