In My Merry Oldsmobile (1932) - Vulgar, Sexual Vintage Cartoon

  • 8 лет назад
In this Fleischer Studios sing-along cartoon it contains a surprising amount of ual imagery. A peeping tom checks out on an Olive Oyl-type woman but hes foiled since the woman is wearing other dresses under her outer dress. Then he breaks into her apartment and tries to get her to take a ride with him in his merry Oldsmobile. The woman turns him down and eventually her Hero arrives and saves the day. Finally there is the sing-along along the famous bouncing ball.\r

Those who remember the bouncing ball series this video might bring back old memories. The song is a classic song that belongs with the Oldsmobile, as well as of the other songs that were composed for the cars under the banner of General Motors. The bouncing ball technique managed to bring an audience together in song.\r

This series of Max Flesicher cartoons predated the other successes of Betty Boop and Popeye. The cartoon characters were in fact the pre-ideas of Popeye, that are Olive Oyl and Brutus. On the ual part apart from the peeping tom scene there is the mustached villain who pulls out a stick of pepperment and the girl keeps licking it. Definitely there is some amount of determinism in it to entice someone into buying an Oldsmobile. Those who have one get the girl sort of. \r

Overall a great piece of animation that only those who remember this sort will appreciate it. The Fleischer cartoons hold up very well today; throughout the years the styles would change, but their energy was uniform throughout their studios work, and their enthusiasm is easy to sense. A brilliant video that manages to portray the simplicities of old times in a worry free, happy go lucky atmosphere.\r
