The Tenenbaum family’s three children are considered true geniuses. Chas (Ben Stiller), the eldest, is a financial wizard, Margot (Gwyneth Paltrow), the daughter, is a famous playwright, and Richie (Luke Wilson), the baby, is a beloved world tennis champion. But when their mother Etheline (Anjelica Huston) decides to divorce their father Royal (Gene Hackman), their lives will suddenly take a whole new direction… Twenty years later, Chas is trying to raise his two sons after the death of his wife, Richie is a washed-up former champ, and Margot is married to a shrink… Many people blame Royal for the kids’ troubled paths. When he reappears, claiming to only have a few weeks to live, everyone will reunite at the family home…where the problems have just begun !
