Iron Man 3 Movie Poster and Set Photos (2013): As you may have heard, Marvel Studios is set to launch the official first trailer for their Phase II sequel Iron Man 3 this Tuesday, October 23rd. Yesterday, we got the Trailer Preview.
Today, we get six new photos with commentary from Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige, along with the first official teaser poster. The plot of this third entry in the stand-alone Iron Man series picks up a few months after the events seen in Marvel's The Avengers. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) are back and running Stark Industries, with Stark being targeted by iconic comic book villain Mandarin (Ben Kingsley).
The adventure begins when Tony has an array of gadgets and weaponry wiped out. Here's what Kevin Feige had to say about this latest adventure, along with the first official teaser poster.
Marvel Studios is releasing a barrage of material for their upcoming Phase II sequel Iron Man 3, in anticipation of the first trailer, which arrives at noon this Tuesday, October 23rd. EW has our first look at Ben Kingsley as Mandarin, Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr.) new nemesis in this anticipated adventure.

Mandarin sets off Tony Stark's latest adventure by firing missiles into his seaside home, which collapses and sinks to the bottom of the ocean with all of Tony's armor and equipment inside. About his background and ethnicity, which was of Chinese ancestry in the comic book, Marvel president Kevin Feige had this to say.
""It's less about his specific ethnicity than the symbolism of various cultures and iconography that he perverts for his own end.""
Kevin Feige also spoke more about the film's plot.
""A lot of this movie is about characters going back into the shadows for various reasons and characters who have been in the shadows coming out and into the light for the first time. It is Tony who, for various reasons, finds himself receding into the darkness. I don't mean emotional darkness, I mean literally ducking out of the spotlight. And we'll see other characters stepping up who have pulled strings from the background, starting to show their hand.""
Iron Man 3 comes to theaters May 3rd, 2013 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley, James Badge Dale, Jon Favreau. The film is directed by Shane Black.
