Independence Day 2 has a new cast member with Sela Ward signing on to play the current President of the United States, President Lanford, in Roland Emmerich’s upcoming sequel. The CSI: NY favourite will reunite with Emmerich, as they last worked together on The Day after Tomorrow. Ward joins a cast that includes original cast members Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman and Vivica A. Fox and newcomers Liam Hemsworth and Charlotte Gainsbourg. The movie is eyeing a may production start and has a June 24, 2016, release date.
