PITTSBURGH — A historic bridge came crashing down in Pittsburgh on Sunday as onlookers captured the moment on video from several different angles.
The 108-year-old Hulton Bridge connecting Pittsburgh and Oakmont took just 10 seconds to drop into the Allegheny River, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.
A demolition crew took the bridge down with 50 charges of explosive material and hailed the operation a success, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
A new $65.7 million bridge slated for the site has four lanes instead of two and includes a bike lane, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.
