Sony pictures has decided to join the popular witch themed movie success with the announcement that the studio is planning a remake of their own 1996 witch movie, The Craft. The original teen supernatural thriller starred Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell and Rachel True as a group of young witches at a Catholic school. Using their magic powers to fix their own personal problems, they soon discover that dark forces can be dangerous and have deadly consequences. This new version will be helmed by up and coming horror director Leigh Janiak, who is also writing the screenplay. The Craft is slated for release in 2017.
