Driver cheats death by seconds as lorry is smashed to pieces by passenger train

A lorry driver is counting his lucky stars after this encounter with a passenger train.

The motorist came within inches of his life when he went over a level crossing while the lights were flashing.

CCTV shows how he turned at a junction on Friday morning in the Czech city of Frýdek-Místek.

If the train had been just been a few seconds earlier, the 45-year-old lorry driver would almost certainly have been killed.

As it is, he suffered just light injuries and all 80 people on the train were unhurt.
