France: Climate Accord Presented in Paris

French Foreign Miniser Laurent Fabius presented a landmark global Climate Accord on Saturday, December 12. It is a historic measure for transforming the world’s economy driven by fossil fuels, en large part responsible for heightened global warming over the last decades. At the tail end of the hottest year on record, United Nations talks opened, pitting the interests of rich nations against poor and imperiled island states against rich economic powerhouses. Fabius urged officials from nearly 200 nations to support what he hopes will be a final deal. teleSUR
