After unveiling the highest Andean peak, Aconcagua, which rises to 6962 meters, Tormod and Tomas Olsson Granheim set themselves a new challenge: to ski down the north face of Everest, 8848 meters high. After a period of acclimatization at Base Camp, the two extreme skiers embarked on the ascent of the mythical Himalayan peak, climbing steep ridges before earning the "death zone" above 8 000 meters altitude, where oxygen is scarce dangerously. After reaching the top, they shod skis and embarked on icy slopes to 55 degrees. The feat, unprecedented, requiring excellent physical condition, highly technical and mental strength.
Drama
Although thoroughly prepared, the adventure has cost the lives of Tomas Olsson. Teammate soberly recounts their perilous undertaking. The images shot by the two athletes, thanks to small cameras attached to their glasses, we are living closer to their feat. The testimony of Tormod Granheim us glimpse the irrepressible fascination with high mountains, the passion it inspires in those who venture there - at a price, sometimes with their lives.
