Zv/kryeministri dhe ministri i jashtëm Edmond Haxhinasto ka marre pjese ne takimin ministerial te OSBE-se, qe u zhvillua ne Letoni, vend i cili mban edhe kryesine e radhës. Teme kryesore e takimeve me homologet evropiane dhe me sekretaren amerikane te shtetit Hillary Clinton kane qene zhvillimet ne Shqipëri, por edhe situata ne Kosove, pas marrëveshjes se fundit për menaxhimin e integruar te kufijve mes Prishtinës dhe Beogradit. Ne fjalën e tij ne këtë takim dhe ne veçanti me zonjën Clinton, kreu i diplomacisë shqiptare informoi vendet pjesëmarrëse mbi reformat ne Shqipëri, ndërsa kërkoi mbështetjen e shteteve anëtare te OSBE edhe për Kosovën dhe rolin e saj ne rajon. "Shqipëria ka treguar se mund te marre rolin udhëheqës për te punuar për paqen dhe sigurinë ne një rajon historikisht te vështirë si Ballkani Perëndimor. Pavarësia e Kosovës, e deklaruar ne përputhje te plote me te drejtën ndërkombëtare, ka kontribuar pa dyshim për paqen dhe stabilitetin rajonal. Shprehim bindjen tone se pavarësia e Kosovës ofron një mundësi pajtimi për serbet dhe shqiptaret," u shpreh Haxhinasto. Gjate takimit te 18-te ministerial ne Letoni, Haxhinasto zhvilloi takime edhe me homologet e tij te Francës Danimarkës dhe Bullgarisë te cilët i informoi rreth zhvillimeve me te fundit politike ne vend dhe kërkoi mbështetjen e tyre ne procesin e integrimit te Shqipërisë ne BE.
Deputy / Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto has participated in the OSCE ministerial meeting that took place in Latvia, a country which holds the rotating leadership. The main topic of meetings with European counterparts and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have been developments in Albania, but also the situation in Kosovo, after the recent agreement for the integrated management of borders between Pristina and Belgrade. In his speech at the meeting and in particular to Mrs. Clinton, head of the Albanian diplomacy informed the participating countries on the reforms in Albania, and sought the support of the OSCE member states for Kosovo and its role in the region. "Albania has indicated it may take a leadership role in working for peace and security in a region historically difficult as the Western Balkans. Kosovo's independence, declared in full accordance with international law, has no doubt contributed to regional peace and stability. We express our conviction that Kosovo's independence provides an opportunity for reconciliation Serbs and Albanians, "said Haxhinasto. During the meeting of the ministerial 18-in Latvia, Haxhinasto meetings with his counterparts from France, Denmark and Bulgaria, who is informed about the latest political developments in the country and urged their support in the integration process of Albania in the EU.
