Të shtunën socialistet mbledhin Kongresin për të votuar programin e ri politik, ndryshimet statutore dhe për te zgjedhur Asamblenë Kombëtare. Në orën 11:00 të paradites, 1500 delegatet e Kongresit, pjesa më e madhe e të cilëve të zgjedhur nga votimi ne baze te parimit "Një anëtar, një vote", do të kenë ne dore dy dokumentet e rëndësishme për socialistet, te cilat me pas do ti drejtojnë ata drejt zgjedhjeve të përgjithshme të vitit 2013. Vetë ky Kongres është konceptuar të zhvilloje punimet në 2 seanca.
Fillimisht do të prezantohet draft programi dhe ndryshimet ne organizimin e brendshëm te partisë. Ne këtë pike diskutimet e delegateve janë lënë te lira dhe pa limit. Vete kryetari Edi Rama do te mbaje fjalën e hapjes qe pritet te fokusohet te prezantimi i draftit, por dhe te raporti me mazhorancen.. Kjo pjese do te jete e hapur për mediat ndërsa diskutimet me pas do te vazhdojnë me dyer te mbyllura. Seanca e dyte parashikon zgjedhjet për Asamblenë e re, mbi bazën e një liste kombëtare. Ky votim pritet te zgjasë deri ne orët e vona te se shtunës. Disa kategori si deputetet, kryetaret e rretheve, apo ish-krerët e parlamentit do te jene automatikisht pjese e Asamblesë, ndërsa 120 anëtarët e tjerë duhet te votohen nga delegatet. Pjese e diskutimeve te lira do te jene dhe mendimet ndryshe brenda partisë. Madje, tresha e deputeteve Islami, Malaj, e Harasani kane paralajmëruar se do te paraqesin draftin e tyre alternativ ne këtë Asamble, qe nuk dihet nëse te jete pjese e votimit ne Kongres. Por e ardhmja e këtyre emrave brenda Partisë Socialiste pritet te shihet pas votimit për kryesine e re dhe sekretariatin. Ky Kongres pritet te vendose marrëdhënie te reja jo vetëm me kundërshtarët e lidershipit brenda PS-se, por dhe vete qëndrimin e opozitës deri ne zgjedhjet e vitit 2013. Ne kongres, 40% e delegateve do te jene femra, ndërsa te ftuar do te jene dhe përfaqësues nga partitë simotra evropiane.
