Pak ore para largimit nga Shqipëria, shefi i misionit te ODIHR-it Jonathan Stonestreet kërkon edhe njëherë qe te nise puna sa me pare për reformën elektorale. Stonestreet tha se partitë janë angazhuar për hapa konkrete dhe një proces gjithëpërfshirës.
"Partitë politike na garantuan se janë te interesuara te fillojnë punën për reformën zgjedhore. Njëkohësisht, na konfirmuan se janë te interesuara qe te nisin sa me shpejt, por pa u ngutur, për t'u bere gati për zgjedhjet e vitit 2013. Gjithashtu ramë dakord qe ky proces te jete gjithëpërfshirës, duke marre pjese ne te edhe parti te tjera jashtë parlamentit, por edhe shoqëria civile", është shprehur Stonestreet. Interesit te mediave për zgjedhjet ne Tirane dhe numërimin e votave ne këtë bashki, Stonestreet iu përgjigj se procesi ishte i pazakonte për shkak te garës se forte dhe numrit te afërt te votave mes dy kandidateve. "Situata e numërimit ishte e pazakonte për shkak te rezultatit te ngushte, dhe ndodhi ne një moment te tensionuar politik. Prandaj theksoj se procesi i reformës zgjedhore është serioz dhe duhet te ndërmerren hapa te rëndësishëm qe te kthehet besimi tek zgjedhjet". Shefi i misionit te vëzhguesve te ODIHR-it për zgjedhjet vendore Stonestreet zhvilloi te martën takime me presidentin Topi, kryeministrin Berisha, ministrin e Jashtëm Haxhinasto si dhe me kreun e Partisë Socialiste, Edi Rama, me qellim zbatimin e rekomandimeve te raportit final për zgjedhjet e 8 majit.
