Toddler receives surgery to remove chopstick prodding into his palate

Stomach-churning footage has emerged from China of surgeons removing a chopstick that got lodged in a toddler's palate.
In the video, filmed in the hospital where the one-year-old was taken in Hubei Province on Monday, doctors can be seen checking the x-ray images before carrying out the one-hour operation to remove the chopstick.
According to news reports, the boy fell off his baby walker when he was playing with the stick which caused the accident. Fortunately the wound avoided major veins, meaning he escapes serious injuries.
He was reportedly able to go home a few days after the surgery.
