Charles Darwin’s ‘On the Origin of Species’ was recently voted as the academic book of greatest importance.

Britain’s Academic Book Week, an event organized to assess the future of scholarly publishing, kicked off earlier this week. 
As part of the program, librarians, booksellers, and publishers comprised a list of the 20 books they deem to be particularly valuable to the field, then invited people to vote for the one they feel is most influential.
