Colombia: 30 Years Ago Military Forces Deliberately Targeted Civilians
  • 8 years ago
Today marks the 30th Anniversary of the Palace of Justice Massacre in Bogota. President Juan Manuel Santos has announced that he will issue an apology on behalf of the Colombian State. In 1985, the M-19 guerrillas took over the Palace, demanding the release of several government documents. Colombia’s armed forces killed almost 100 people in a military recovery operation. Recent investigations have shown that the State deliberately targeted civilians to frame the guerrillas. teleSUR
