200mph cannon shoots pumpkin into flying drone

An incredible video has emerged of a pumpkin hitting a drone at high speed after being shot out of a cannon at a farm in the US.

The footage, captured in Hawley, Pennsylvania on Saturday, shows the moment the projectile smashes into the drone after being launched from a position a few hundred feet away.

According to the drone pilot, the cannon operator had indicated the likely path of the pumpkin, with the drone being positioned out of the firing line, but in an incredible bit of bad luck a smaller pumpkin launched at an unexpected trajectory, and ended up flying straight into the device.

Although the drone received a lot of damage, the GoPro camera attached to the device remained intact and the footage was later recovered.

"Unbelievably bad luck, but I was stupid for having it anywhere near close enough to get hit," the filmer wrote online.

"Pumpkins and drones do not mix," he added.
