Chinese art school uses train to house students

It's Fresher's Week in the UK and newbie students are settling into their halls but most won't be staying in accommodation like this.

Footage has emerged from China of an art school which has transformed a scrapped train into student dormitories.

In the video, filmed in Zhengzhou, Henan Province on Wednesday, a series of carriages can be seen divided and refurbished into bedrooms and bathrooms, with air conditioning units and heating installed to make them living-friendly.

Each carriage contains four to six beds in general, while a larger one can also hold up to eight.

According to news reports, the idea of building dormitories in carriages came from the principal who graduated from a railway college. He said he wanted to provide students and teachers with a "novel" living environment.
