However, no amount of magic or luck could allow its corporate parent to evade the brutal present-day economic conditions. Following filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, all company-owned Bennigans and Steak and Ale eateries closed for business on 29 July 2008. At least one franchise-operated Bennigans remains open in Tampa. None remain in Tallahassee or Houston, according to current knowledge.
