Trevor Romain in conjunction with the USO recently approached us to produce a short for one of his teen counseling videos. They gave us free rein on the script, and we ran wild. The short features four fictional teen counseling mascots – a polar bear in boxing gloves, a unicorn-Pegasus that farts rainbows, a narwhal in a bucket (with a Texan accent, of course), and a sloth with a human mouth – who invent their own perfect Super Happytopialand. Unfortunately, they quickly get bored in their cutesy realm and go in search of some lost and lonely teens to help.
We had a lot of fun working on this Trevor Romain cartoon, and we kept quality control air tight. On top of the crisp animation, we wrote and rewrote the script and had our animators even voice-act some of the major characters. We flexed our animation muscles with a wide variety of styles, from pixel art to thick-lined cartoony flash. The target audience is military kids, but you can still check it out if even your parents aren’t in the military. We all need a little guidance sometimes.
