Pandora has officially announced its new day-pass subscription, six months after first teasing its plans. The Internet radio service, which is available in the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand, differs from other on-demand music-streaming services, such as Spotify, in that it lets you listen to personalized music stations built around a song, artist, or genre, rather than allowing you to select specific songs or albums. With the new $0.99 day pass, Pandora is gunning for the casual listeners who want to remove annoying ads for one-off events such as parties.
