USA: Obama Urges Congress to Defend Iran Nuclear Deal
  • 9 years ago
In a 45-minute speech at the American University, President Barack Obama warned of an imminent war and loss of credibility if Republican members of Congress block the Iran nuclear deal made by the group known as the P5+1. It’s a choice between diplomacy and some form of war, said Obama. Furthermore, he charged that military action would be far less effective than this deal in preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. Congress will have until September 17 to vote on the deal. Obama has said he will veto any attempt to block it. Bianca Perez reports from Washington DC for teleSUR.
