Police officer investigated for throwing peanuts at a homeless man

A Florida police officer is being investigated for allegedly throwing peanuts at a homeless man who was being booked in the Sarasota County jail earlier this month.A video of the incident has prompted an investigation, according to local reports, into the dehumanizing way the officers appear to have treated the homeless man.The man, Randy Miller, was intoxicated and handcuffed as the Sarasota officer, Andrew Halpin, threw peanuts at his mouth.Halpin can be seen laughing in the background; he later kicks several peanuts across the floor at Miller. Three other police officers watch as the incident unfolds.
