Argentina: Smear Campaign Against Cristina Fernandez Administration

Argentina’s ruling Front for Victory Coalition and social movements charge the right-wing PRO party and conservative sectors of the judiciary officials with illegally using city tax money to pay for an elaborate police raid in a remote southern province to supposedly gather evidence of money laundering in a hotel partially owned by the Kirschner family. It’s a smear campaign, pure and simple, they say, aimed at destabilizing the Cristina Fernandez administration in the weeks before the October general elections.
