Peru: Fujimori Demands Retrial on 2008 Death Squad Case
  • 9 years ago
Ex President of Peru, Alberto Fujimori, is demanding a retrial of a 2008 conviction for ordering death squads to kill leftist insurgents during his term of office in the 1990s. Sentenced to 25 years in prison, he is requesting a retrial on the grounds that the presiding judge had sent e-mails regarding the case to at least two lawyers while the case was being heard. teleSUR
