00:00I have no idea how to tell this story. I don't even know how to start it.

00:04This is the story of my senior year of high school and how it destroyed my life.

00:08Your father and I want to talk to you about something sad.

00:10Rachel Kushner has been diagnosed with leukemia.

00:14That sucks.

00:15It sucks.

00:16It sucks quite a bit.

00:17You might be someone who could make Rachel feel better.

00:20I don't need your stupid pity.

00:22I'm not here because I pity you. I'm actually here because my mom is making me.

00:26It's actually worse.

00:29Everyone was going to find out sooner or later.

00:31The one thing you can do if you don't want to talk to anyone is just enter a subhuman state.

00:35Pretend you're someone annoying.

00:36Hi, Rachel. I'm really sorry you have cancer.

00:42That's exactly what I'm talking about.

00:44So if this was a touching romantic story, our eyes would meet and suddenly we would be furiously making out with the fire of a thousand suns.

00:51But this isn't a touching romantic story.

00:54Anyway.

00:56Who is this little friend?

00:58Earl's just my co-worker. I've known him since kindergarten.

01:01Would you let a cat want to fight?

01:03Didn't think so, punk-ass cat.

01:06So you and Greg are co-workers?

01:07No, we're friends. Dude's terrified of calling somebody his friend.

01:10Lou's got issues.

01:11But how are you co-workers?

01:12We make films.

01:13Movies?

01:14They're terrible.

01:15Greg, you never told me.

01:17The idea behind each one was we took a film that we liked and we made the title stupider and then made a new film to reflect the new title.

01:24It's a formula that only produces horrible films, but for some reason we keep using it.

01:28You need to make a film for Rachel.

01:30Hi, Rachel.

01:31I don't really know you, but I believe in you.

01:33I know you're Jewish, but God has a plan for you.

01:35Out of all the people in the school, I don't hate you?

01:39Dare.

01:40You guys were making a movie for me.

01:42We tried a bunch of stuff and it's not that good.

01:44Now is not the time for your I'm Greg, I suck, nothing I do is any good thing.

01:48We agreed to do a film that we have no idea what it should look like or even be.

01:52What was I thinking?

01:53I'm so tired of you treating this girl like she a burden.

01:55Because somebody actually cares about you, her life is over after this.

02:00Life can keep unfolding itself to you just as long as you pay attention to it.

02:04It was the best of times.

02:09Worst of times.

02:10It's so much harder than I thought it would be.
