A scientist is conducting experiments on a mentally ill patient in hopes of curing the patient's mental illness thus curing his wife's mental illness also, and continuously visits a retired doctor in the library for guidance. After being bitten by the patient, the scientist contracts flu-like symptoms and the doctor questions the advancements of science.
