My Video Book Review of 26 days In Inner Sanctum (Rehab!Nursing Department) Professional and they had a good basic professional nursing staff who know their jobs - Were professional and they treat you with respect.
(Nursing Aides (CNA)
Their Certified Nursing Aide's rating is fair but fail to follow through on their patient duty list. I was supposed to be weighed for 7 straight days and it took them 14 days to finish the order.
They need more inservice training and specially on how to work with confused patients. Two of the aides have bully approaches.(Do It Or Else.) More on this in the book)
(Physical Therapy Department)Department staff are very good except one who was very lazy in trying to do his job. The Department Manager needs more experince in knowing what is going on with the PT Department and patients. She needs to learn to make sure staff is covering for staff not showing up for work. I missed several appointments because of no shows.
Occupational Therapy Department
This department needs a lot of work and some inservice
training. They need to know what rights a patient has and
treat patients with respect. We are human beings and
we are not some older person that is going to eat
them up. They take the approach that every patient needs
OT. This is not true and they will do an OT assessment
even though a physician has not ordered OT They present
the assessment to the busy physician to sign the
assessment after the fact and you are now set up with OT
Service. Make sure you require a copy of all Dr.orders.
Dietary Department
My book hits this Department very hard. I confess that I
am predjudiced about food because I am a damn good cook
Lousy, tasteless, cold food is inexcusable. When yu read
the book you will find that they rely on the excuse of "We
can warm it Up" which is good "ole micro wave.
Administration Department
This is the sad part in that Administration people are
covering up the food complaints. Once a coverup there has
to be more in other areas of their operation.
The Social Service Department does not know what
Social Service in a facility is or means. To be Very Basic
It "Means Give Help.) This department only knows to let
you know she is making all plans and decisions about your
care and discharge plans.
I never met or ever saw the administrator until one morning
he appeared at my door with the Deputy Sheriff. He looked at the door and that is the only time he ever said Hello.
However, he was not there to meet me. Two bullying aides
cried sexual assault the night before by my 90 plus year
old very confused room mate. The aides out weighed him by
