Diego Maradona’s father passed away Thursday in a Buenos Aires hospital at the age of 87. Don Diego had suffered heart and respiratory problems for several weeks and was hospitalized for over a month. During his public life, the soccer star frequently spoke fondly of both of his parents in his rise from extreme poverty to achieve world recognition on the playing field.
