In the Melbourne Zoo in Australia, Obi, a baby pygmy hippopotamus taking his first bath with her mom, a terribly cute moment. This cute little hippo just three weeks old, learned the basics of swimming in an artificial pond. There remain a few seconds underwater before rising to the surface to take a breath, under the watchful eye of his mother who did not miss a beat.
Pygmy hippos are endangered, difficult to assess their numbers but Obi him is part of an international breeding program and will be sent to another country to breed maturity. Weighing already weighs 13 kilos in its third week, Obi quickly reach the weight of 250 kilos and will have to learn to move in the water despite its high body mass, an important step for a hippo.
